I started out, years ago... in San Marcos, Texas. My first art show, Cartoonism, took place there in the fall of '02
On display at The Coffee Pot from Nov. 22nd thru Dec. 6th, my debut show consisted of sixteen poster-sized pieces
I was 21 years old at the time of this show, and had only been signing my art as 'R. Thies' for about two months
I couldn’t afford frames.. So I used neon-colored poster boards to present my work
I used an X-Acto knife to cut my drawings out, then glued them onto the poster board
